GEHARD DEMETZ - WOOD CARVING EXTRAORDINAIRE  

Few things can be found out there about German artist Gehard Demetz; he was born in 1972 in Italy, he currently resides in the mountains of Selva Gardena, and he makes absolutely amazing wooden sculptures. His subjects are mostly children who stand with stern faces, but maintain a childlike innocence. Often times they're holding out various objects at arms length towards the viewer, Gehard limits his use of color to only the objects they interact with. The emotional content is vague and mysterious and oh so beautiful. Behold.
